Here’s a terrific program for those with a keen interest in theatre in general and Shakespeare in particular. It is perfect for a theatre friends group or for a couple. Since the tour is individually designed, the hotels, tours and plays will be priced at the time of booking. Please contact me with the dates in which you are interested.
Friday: Flight to the UK.
Saturday: Arrive London Heathrow/London Gatwick and transfer to your centrally located hotel. Rest, relax, independent sightseeing.
Sunday: Morning worship at the Actors Church and/or a full day tour of London including Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and Exhibition. Afternoon at the Theatre Museum, Covent Garden.
Monday: Depart London for Oxford and an entertaining literary Oxford walking tour of the Colleges. Reaching Stratford upon Avon, an orientation tour of the area with visits to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Shakespeare’s Birthplace. Welcome reception meeting members of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Management team.
Tuesday: Backstage tour at The Royal Shakespeare Company. Enter an Aladdin’s Cave of props, costumes, swords and theatrical splendor. Stand on the stage where the greatest actors have performed. Feel the real roar of the greasepaint. Tonight a performance at The Other Place, the first of three evenings at the theatre in Stratford.
Wednesday: An entertaining walking tour of Stratford as Shakespeare would have seen and known it. This will be an amusing, somewhat theatrical perspective on the Bard’s home town. Evening performance at the Swan Theatre.
Thursday: This morning, Warwick Castle, one of Britain’s finest historic monuments, opens its doors and drops its drawbridge. See the fabulous Kingmaker exhibition reliving how kings were made in Old England. Free afternoon back in Stratford upon Avon. And finally an evening at the world renowned Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
Friday: Return to London for an afternoon at leisure before an evening performance at the Royal National Theatre.
Saturday: Free day. By way of a grand finale, late afternoon actor-led tour of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, a quick supper, and then the West End theatre performance of your choice.
Sunday: Airport transfer for the return flight home.Info Here
